» German Fetish Ball: five action-packed days of events!

Hamburg: historic trading centre, thriving container port, decadent cultural metropolis, and now dramatic backdrop to the German Fetish Ball events.
Wednesday afternoon on the A1... as always, traffic was a bitch! Driving into town, past the legions of cranes and stacked containers, we easily picked up the beat of Hamburg's commercial heart. Converging into Hamburg's vibrant and chaotic city centre, were fetishists gathered from all around the world, football supporters attending the Europa League Final, riot police on every corner (waiting for possible trouble that thankfully didn't materialise), and vanilla tourists arriving for the bank-holiday weekend.
Wednesday evening 12 May 2010: Fetish cocktails at Elbwerk, a stylish bar on the harbour front, which made an excellent start to the 'weekend' and provided a great opportunity to network.
Thursday afternoon 13 May 2010: a public holiday in Germany, and BDSM Pride in Stadtpark Hamburg, gaving visitors a chance to breathe some fresh air before the early evening meet-and-greet at Motel One.
Thursday night 13 May 2010: Sweet Surrender at Catonium, a fabulous venue, well worth a visit. This was a BDSM couples-and-entourage-only event, with restricted numbers, which meant that the atmosphere was perfect for play. It was truly magical to discover the many varied environments in the place, from medieval castle to clinical medical room, from strict schoolroom to high tech nightclub. A great opportunity for Mistress Hannah to leave her signature across the flesh of some willing slaves - with her whip, not a pen!
Friday 14 & Saturday 15 May 2010: the Fetish Fair at MesseHall Hamburg was the core event of our trip to Hamburg. Peter Felix Kurtz exhibited a selection of iconic work in the art gallery, with portfolio prints available for sale. We enjoyed chatting to fans, signing prints, and doing a series of mini-photoshoots. It was great to catch up with old friends and business contacts, and make some new friends too.
Friday night 14 May 2010: Fetish Decadence at Catonium meant that there was no sleep for the wicked!
Saturday night 15 May 2010: after eight hours on the second day of exhibiting, the German Fetish Ball at Edelfettwerk was a feast for the senses. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces taking part in the shows, including many who have appeared on the fetishfoto website. We didn't make the after-party at Catonium, as we needed a couple of hours sleep before driving back to London!
A big thank you to all our friends and members who came to see us in Hamburg, and made the weekend very special.
